Florencia Romano, la primera mujer árbitro del fútbol argentino
Un 4 de abril de
1998: Surge la primera mujer referí. Fue en la cancha del club Victoriano
Arenas, categoría Primera D del fútbol argentino, cuando la joven estudiante de
arquitectura Florencia Romano anunció el inicio del partido, entre los locales
y Muñiz. Este hecho ocurrió luego de un largo conflicto político y judicial
iniciado por Romano para poder obtener el derecho de ejercer su profesión.
Recibida de árbitro en 1992, comenzó dirigiendo inferiores en la liga tucumana,
además de participar como jugadora.
En el 1996 terminó
un curso especial en SADRA y se decidió por empezar a impartir justicia en los
partidos de manera profesional. Igualmente su día más importante
aconteció en marzo del 2000, cuando integró la terna arbitral junto con dos
colegas femeninas Alejandra Cercato y Elvira Maldonado. Y en 2001 logró
convertirse en internacional a través de FIFA. Siempre se recordará por haber sido la primera mujer que en Argentina dirigió
un partido de fútbol de la AFA.
